Loose Diamond Engagement Article:
Rob and Cathy
We had been dating
for almost 7 months. We knew that we definitely wanted to
spend the rest of our lives together. We had talked about
where we wanted to live, how many children we wanted to
have, and all of the places that we wanted to travel to.
We had looked at few loose diamonds and diamond rings, but
there were no definite plans made. We just had a common
feeling that we wanted to be together. It was New Year’s
Eve and we were to be at a friends at 8 in the evening.
Rob had suddenly "disappeared". I had tried to
call him on his cell phone and at his house. There was NO
answer. This was not common for Rob. An hour had passed
and there was still no sign of him anywhere. My frustration
was beginning to turn to worry. It was now 9:30, and finally
the door bell rings. It was Rob. Once my fears were relieved
and I could see that he was fine, I began to get angry.
We went on to our friends’ house where we enjoyed bringing
in the New Year together. Needless to say, I was still a
little upset with him. After the year was brought in, we
went back to his house. Nothing much was said in reference
to what had happened earlier that day. I went on to sleep
and I am sure that Rob wasn’t asleep long after me. The
next morning was a beautiful morning and he came in the
room where I was sleeping to wake me up. He lay down in
the bed beside me and began to say our morning prayer. The
prayer started the same way all of the others had. However,
something in the tone of his voice had changed. He began
to say things such as, "God, you know why you sent
Cathy into my life", "Thank you for how happy
she makes me", and "You know how much she means
to me and that I love her". I thought that was a different
prayer, but maybe he is trying to make up for the night
before. Then Rob proceeded to start digging under the bed
or in between the mattresses (I am still not sure of where
he was looking). I had no idea what he was doing and I asked
him “What the heck are you doing?” He then rolled off of
the bed and came up on his knee with a little black jewelry
box. I will never forget the sweet innocent look on his
face. He opened the box and said, "Will you marry me?"
Inside the little box was the most beautiful diamond engagement
ring I had ever seen. I know I sat there for what must have
seemed like forever to Rob. I was literally speechless.
He then took the diamond ring out of the box and placed
it on my finger. I told him "YES!!!" We kissed
and embraced because we knew that our lives had been forever
changed.
Just words of advice
for all the women out there, if your boyfriend or husband
suddenly disappears around the holidays or a special occasion,
wait a little bit before getting angry. You may never know
what big surprise (Diamond Engagement Ring) is in store
for you.
