Loose Diamond Engagement Article:
Nathan and Heather

It was early May in 2000, and we had been together for almost one year. There had been talk of marriage and diamond rings, but no firm plans had developed. Nathan had a business trip to San Antonio, and I was able to get off work, and tag along. We stayed on the Riverwalk, and it was more beautiful and romantic than we had thought. We spent the evenings walking along the river, dining at the outdoor restaurants, and riding the tour boat. It was a great week, but the best was yet to come. On the last night of our trip we walked around town, took a carriage ride and enjoyed dinner together. After dinner Nathan wanted to take one last walk down the river. I wasn't really into the walk, all I could think about getting back to the hotel and packing for the trip home. Nathan persisted, and I agreed. We walked along, and stopped at a waterfall that I had admired during the week. Before I knew it, Nathan had me in his arms, and... he proposed! Of course I said yes, and we hugged, kissed, and stopped some people to have them take our picture. There was one small issue; he did not give me a diamond ring!

I know what you are thinking; can you even be engaged without a diamond engagement ring? I wasn't really sure myself. Nathan explained that he was unable to get the diamond ring before the trip, and had decided that he wouldn't propose without a diamond ring. Once we were in San Antonio, it was so romantic that he said he could not miss the opportunity to propose at a place that had become so special to us.

A few days after we were home I noticed that Nathan was again acting a little strange. He wanted to drive to the park, or maybe go for a walk, he just seemed anxious. When we were alone, he asked me to close my eyes. When he said I could open them I was looking at the most beautiful diamond engagement ring I had ever seen. It was a much bigger diamond ring than I ever thought I would have the pleasure of wearing! I couldn't stop looking at the diamond ring for days. Every time I looked at the engagement ring, I fell in love with Nathan all over again. I could just picture him learning about diamond rings, studying the different choices and contemplating which one would be the perfect diamond. I have to say he did a great job! I loved the attention that the diamond ring demanded. Strangers would stop me and comment on the beauty of the diamond ring, and people would ask when the wedding would take place. I have never worn another piece of diamond jewelry with such pride, as I have my diamond engagement ring!
