Loose Diamond Engagement Article:
Jonathon and Krista

I had already been married once. I never expected to fall in love so easily after having my heart broken the first time. We had only been dating for a couple of months. He made me laugh, which helped, because I never thought that I would be happy again. He had a beautiful two-year-old daughter and I had an infant son. We were both single parents trying to make ends meet. I don’t think that either of us planned on being in a relationship with our children. We were both cautious, but it just made sense. Two broken homes put together to make one perfect family. We quickly fell in love with the others’ child and began to treat them as our own. It just seemed as though marriage would be the next step. We had talked about marriage and window shopped for a few diamond engagement rings. One Saturday morning he came to visit me and my son at my parents’ house, and wanted to go to lunch and look at some loose diamonds for an engagement ring. We looked at loose diamonds that had many shapes, sizes, cuts, and clarity. I did not care what the diamond ring looked like, as long as I was called his. We looked for quite a while before deciding that we would take a break and grab a bite to eat. We went to a restaurant in the local mall. Nothing fancy, just a place to feed my child and rest our feet for a while. We always had the best time laughing, smiling and just enjoying the others company. We had finished our meal and I was beginning to gather up my son’s belongings that were scattered all over the floor, and when I returned to my seat, there sat a little white jewelry box. I was a bit caught off guard, because I was not expecting a diamond ring that day. He looked into my eyes and told me he loved me and asked if I would be his wife. With tears in my eyes, I hugged him and whispered "yes". Our lives changed from that moment on.
