Diamond Jewelry Education
Each diamond has a unique mark on it which although not visible by naked eye can be seen under magnifying lens. However, these marks when present in a large number can reduce the value of a diamond. Therefore, the clearer the diamond the more expensive it is. Marks in a diamond can appear because of the following particles:

Minerals – Causes a dark spot from a trapped piece of mineral

Naturals – Causes cracks on the diamond surface that were a part of the original diamond crystal

Feathers – Causes cracks due to internal or external stress during the diamond's formation.

Rollover each diamond to see the impurities and know more about them.
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has developed a set of standards to categorize diamonds according to the marks present on it. These are:

Type of Diamond
Flawless (FL), Internally Flawless (IF) Are very rare to find as they have no flaws or marks present. Marks cannot be seen even under a magnifying lens.
Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1, VVS2) It contains minute inclusions that are hard to see at 10X magnification even for experienced graders.
Very Slightly Included (VS1, VS2) It contains minute no inclusions when observed at 10X magnification with effort.
Slightly Included (SI1, SI2) It contains inclusions that are noticeable at 10X magnification to experienced grader.
Imperfect (I1, I2, I3) Contains marks that can be viewed by the naked eye.
